 How do I get games?  

Games are assigned in an online Program called Arbiter Sports to which you will have an account.

Why am I not getting a lot of games?

Your close out dates (availability) impact this, your declined assignments, and your hustle and attitude.  

Where can I get my equipment?  

You are able to purchase your equipment at any place you determine. A list of vendors as options is located on the Dashboard Page in Arbiter.

How will I know if my game is canceled?  

The assigner, once notified by the school or recreation staff, will enter it into Arbiter.  Arbiter will send you a notification by email and text of the canceled game.  Please do not call the assigner to find out.

What if I eject a coach or a player?

You must send an email to tarriverofficials@gmail.com before 8:00 a.m. the morning containing the game location, team, who was ejected, and reason for ejection.

Who can become an official?

Anyone with a passion for sports and a commitment to fair play can become an official. We welcome new and experienced individuals. No experience necessary or required.

Can I advance to officiate higher levels?

The opportunity to advance is always available to any official who desires to advance their officiating career.  Opportunities exist to officiate at the high school and college level is you desire.

Do you provide training for officials?

Yes, we provide training sessions to ensure all officials meet the necessary standards and understand the rules of their respective sports.

How are officials assigned to events?

Officials are assigned based on availability, experience, and the specific requirements of each sporting event within our community.

Do I get paid to officiate?

Yes, all officials are paid a fee set for each sport.  You are an independent contractor (1099).  The average official earns approximately $30.00 per hour for games worked.
